My favorite time to make photographs in a city is just before it “wakes up”. Before people get out to start their day, before traffic clogs the streets and before the noises of a city fill your senses. I find this lets you better appreciate elements of the architectural esthetic.
I only had a couple hours in my schedule to explore while I was in Columbus, Ohio in October. I didn’t venture very far: only 5 or 6 blocks from my hotel. There is much more of Columbus to discover but sometimes you don’t need to go very far to find an interesting photograph.
